Friends, my name is Gaylon Kent, and I am a candidate for the Colorado Libertarian Party’s US Senate nomination. As always, if you are happy with our country, go visit another candidate’s site, either a Republican’s or a Democrat’s, it doesn’t matter because neither is going to change a thing.

The idiocy our country is tolerating right now is as enormous as it is unprecedented. From war with Iran, a country that posed no imminent threat to us, to the cruelty to the meme showing the Obamas as primates, to the witlessness of Canada as the 51st state, America is governed by a man of zero moral or intellectual substance. For ten years America has chosen to appease Donald Trump and let him bully and overpower his way to what he wants. It’s time to stop that.
It’s time for common sense in these uncommon times.
The war with Iran is senseless, every death on both sides a slaughter. Iran is a country that poses no strategic threat to us. We are showing we are no better than the enemies we fought over the years by attacking a girls’ school, a war crime for which someone should be held accountable.
We deserve better than this. We deserve a country at peace with itself and the rest of the world. We deserve a country where ignorance is neither normal nor accepted, an America whose Congress, media, and electorate do not allow a mean, selfish, ignorant man to bully and overpower his way to what he wants.
I’m running for an America we can all be proud of. It’s time for you and me – we the people – to demand better on Election Day. It’s time for common sense in uncommon times.

War
I am the peace candidate for a reason: I oppose all wars that have not been declared by Congress, as mandated in the Constitution.
The Drug War
The drug war has failed in every respect. Decriminalizing them would end the violence associated with them.
Abortion
The moral aspects of abortion are your lookout. The government must butt out of the abortion debate.
The Flat Tax
There should not be an income tax at all, but until we can afford that, we deserve a return we can file on a single sheet of paper. A flat tax of no more than 5% on incomes over $50,000 will do that.
The Death Penalty
America has executed innocent people. This is reason enough to abolish the death penalty.
Health Care
Doctors and health insurers should be returned to the free market. They must be financially responsible to their patients and customers, just like other businesses are.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure to announce my candidacy for our party’s 2026 US Senate nomination.
Right now, America is being led by ignorance, bluster, and bullying. Common sense and substance are things of the past. We’ve settled for appeasement over accomplishment, feelings over thought, knee-jerk reactions instead of careful consideration.
It’s time to change that. Here you will find reasonable, common-sense solutions to our nation’s problems.
As your senator, my pledge is to bring common sense to these uncommon times. So let’s get busy, we have a country to change.
